Obituary For Thomas Dean Barrett

MR. THOMAS DEAN BARRETT- Age 72, of Atlanta, Georgia and formerly of Cohutta, Georgia passed away Friday, August 25, 2017. He was retired from Atlantic Steel Company in Atlanta. He was preceded in death by his wife, Regina Taylor Barrett, mother, Thelma Mack Chaney, grandparents, N. J. Barrett and Gertrude Hollins Barrett, sisters, Bertie Lee Whitener, and brothers, Johnny Barrett, and James (“Spergin”) Barrett. He is survived by his two sons, Michael (Shelia Smith) Barrett of Atlanta, Georgia and Anthony Barrett of Douglasville, Georgia; daughters, Juanita Buckley, Keesta Barrett of Atlanta, and LaToya Buckley of Jonesboro, Georgia; grandchildren, Dominique Barrett, Iyana Swint, Ashley,Alashia, Kohle Harrison, Shaquanna White, Kasen White, Mason White, Khori White, Cameron Buckley, MaKayla Ruff, Jarvis Ruff; sister, Teresa (Ralph) Cochran of Varnell, Georgia; one brother, Jeffery Chaney of Irving, Texas; brother-in-law, Kenneth (Patricia) Taylor; sisters-in-law, Crystal Taylor of Dalton, and Amy Taylor Cockran of Chattanooga; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; special friends, Lavern Bogan, Anthony Blunt, Stephanie Blunt, Eboni Ware, Marcus Ware, Wilburn (Annette) Stembrige, Marcus, and Travonda Stembridge, all of Atlanta, and other relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at the Chapel with Minister John Hall and other ministers officiating. His remains will lie in state at the funeral home on Friday after 11:00 A.M. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 until 7:00 P. M. Interment, Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
