Obituary For Charlie Ray Morrison

MR. CHARLIE R. MORRISON – Age 77, of Rome, Georgia passed away on Friday, October 27, 2017. He was born on August 24, 1940 in Arcadia, Florida to the late Henry Morrison and Tommie Mae Morrison. Charlie was employed by the Rome City Board of Education until his retirement in 1993; he was a Teacher and Principal for thirty-one years. His brother, William Gardener also preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Daphnie Morrison of Rome, Georgia; two sons, Kelvin (Mimi) Morrison of Marietta, Georgia and André (Karen) Morrison of Woodlawn, Tennessee; one daughter, Dr. Andrea M. (Dr. Paul) Dabney of Decatur, Georgia; goddaughter, Patresia Johnson of Rome; grandchildren, Kristina Rayna Morrison, Kristopher Ray Morrison, Gamael Cristian Morrison, D’anté Ray Morrison, D’andré Genét Morrison, Dominyck Dré Morrison, Kristian Lee Morrison, Desjuan Maurice Morrison, Maysen Rayne Morrison, Alexandria Grace Dabney, Analise Rose Dabney, and; one brother, Perry (Betty) Morrison of Arcadia, Florida; sisters-in-law, Cavalier Martin of Lyerly, Georgia and Helen Bowman of Cleveland, Tennessee; brothers-in-law, Waldo (Earnestine) Finley of Cincinnati, Ohio, Woodrow Finley of Cleveland, Ohio, Timothy (Lynda) Finley of Summerville, Georgia, and Sanford (Sophia) Finley of Zebulon, Georgia, Hugh Finley of Cleveland, Tennessee; a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 12:00 Noon at Metropolitan United Methodist Church, 700 Broad St., Rome, Georgia 30161. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday evening from 7:00 until 8:00 P.M. with the Rome Consistory #264 Masonic Rites. Interment, Floyd Memorial Garden.
