Obituary For James Norman Dixon

MR. JAMES “NORMAN” DIXON - Age 74, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2018. He was born on August 17, 1943 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the late James Ernest and Ora Belle Chattams Dixon. He was a graduate in 1962 from Stephens High School, was a truck driver, a U.S. Army Veteran, and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Marine Dixon; three daughters, Alexis Dixon, Beverly King, and Jacqueline Turner; sister, Estelle Dixon; granddaughter, Calayhia Sellers; goddaughter, Tammie Simpson; godson, Rickey Simpson; one aunt, Louise Chattams; five sisters-in-law, Ceola Aker, Emma (Robert) Hayes, Frankie (Kent) Reynolds, Minnie Scott, and Mamie (Terry) Austin; two brothers-in-law, James (Diane) Steele and Purcell (Lynette) Steele; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be held Friday, March 16, 2018 at 2:30 P.M. at Friendship Baptist Church, 452 W. Line Street, Calhoun, Georgia, with Minister Wayne Curtis, Pastor James Washington, and other ministers officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening at Pine Grove Baptist Church, 4479 Red Bud Road, N.E., Calhoun, Georgia, from 6:00 until 7:30 P.M. Interment, Pine Grove Church Cemetery.
