Obituary For Beaunell Pettaway

Beaunell Pettaway loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother passed away peacefully at home amongst her family July 27, 2018. Born January 26, 1932 in Boykin, AL she was a long time resident of Mobile, AL. She worked for many years as a presser for Chin Industries retiring in 1989. She was a faithful member of Mt.Olive Baptist Church #1 serving on the Matrons Board and a member of the Gospel Choir. She loved her church and serving the Lord. Mrs. Pettaway was devoted to her family and loved ones. She was affectionately called GG by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth Pettway Kennedy and Grandison Pettway: devoted son Danny Charles Pettaway: adored grandson Grannderson Thompson and siblings Leemoril Kennedy, McAuthor Kennedy, John Houston Kennedy, Margaret Amerson and Mattie Pearl Orr.

She leaves to cherish her memories her 3 devoted daughters Sadie Pettway, Carolyn Thompson, Toletha (Jerome) Jackson and daughter-in-law Wanda Roach Pettaway; 5 loving sisters and 2 brothers, Oranell Pettaway, Laura Dixon, Rebecca Kennedy, Andalusia Johnson, Lillian Melvin, Jesse Kennedy and Alfred Kennedy; adored by her 8 grandchildren Sharee Pettway, Toya Pettaway, Kike Pettaway, Justin Leverett, Myles Pettaway, Precious (Deran) Jackson-Bosley, Thaddeus Jackson and Latriece Roach Pettaway; her 26 precious great-grandchildren Taylor Aberhart, LondynArchible, Zoey Archible, Kortne Wright, Alequis Wright, Cache Wright, Unity Wright, Jayda Edmonds, Jordan Edmonds, Jermaine Edmonds, Jakiel Thompson, Rhyan Pettaway, Paris Leverett, Mylesiah Pettaway, Treyhan Pettaway, Mylei Pettaway, Malachi Pettaway, Kanyion Jackson, Kamorie Jackson, Karan Jackson, Kamonie Jackson, Pheonix Jackson, Danny Charles Pettaway, Carl Dillard Jr., King Pettaway and 1 great-great granddaughter Zykiel Crosby. She was loved and greatly admired by many nieces and nephews. She had a host of friends who loved her, some of whom were there to greet her in heaven. Beaunell Pettaway the Candy Lady of RV Taylor will never be forgotten. She left her legacy for all whom she left behind to LOVE ONE ANOTHER.

Visitation will be held Saturday August 4, 2018 @ Mt. Olive Baptist Church #1 ( Lexington Ave) Mobile, Al from 10am until the 11 am Homegoing Celebration with Rev. Earnest Scott, Pastor and Officiating Minister. The Earthly Bed of Rest will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Mobile, Al.
