Ruthie Mae Lynch Obituary

Ruthie Mae (Koon) Lynch, 79, longtime resident of Detroit, MI, departed this life on Wednesday, Jan 29, 2025. She was born in Asheville, NC, on December 14, 1945 to Howard and Lena Young Koon.

Ruthie was a devoted wife and homemaker to Clyde E. Lynch and a loving mother of five. Ruthie was more than happy to be the central figure in the lives of her children. She and her family were members of Burnette Baptist Church, where they worshiped the Lord. Ruthie will be greatly missed by her loving family and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Lena Young Koon; husband, Clyde E. Lynch; brothers, Adolphus Koon, John Koon, Harold Koon, and George Koon; sisters, Carol Koon, Janice Koon, Lucille Johnson, and Mary F. Gash.

Ruthie is survived by her sisters, Eva Whiteside, Martha K. Gardenhight, and Gladys Gibson of Asheville, NC; brothers, Charles Koon of Whitmire, SC and Calvin Koon of Atlanta, GA; sons, Ervin Lynch, James Lynch, Clyde D. Lynch; daughters, Sharlene Lynch, and Darlene Lynch; grandchildren Denauti Herman, Javon Herman, Brianna Morgan, and LaSalle Moore; great-grandchildren Wynter Morgan, Legend Felder, and Lucki Felder.

Services will be held on

Wednesday, February 5th, 2025, 1:00 pm

Ray Funeral and Cremation Service, 1373 Sweeten Creek Rd, Asheville, NC 28803, and officiated by Ulysses Miller.

The burial will be at Union Hill A.M.E. Zion Church Cemetery, 461 Ferguson Ridge Road, Union Mills, North Carolina 28167.
