Willie Conrad Lyons, Sr.

Passed 01/25/2025

A time to be born:

Willie Conrad Lyons, Sr., affectionately known and called Conrad, was born in Steelton, Pennsylvania on the day that we celebrate the day of love to the late Zelma Lyons and the late Willie Clyde Lyons.

A Time for education and Worship:

He received his formal education in the Central Dauphin School District and graduated from C.D. East High School in1969. He continued his education and received his masters degree of human services in 1998 from Lincoln university. On April 14, 1995, he was baptized and became a trustee and walking deacon within the church, he prided himself on the maintenance of the church and the planning of the services. He was ordained as a deacon on April 11, 2015 and became a licensed minister on. June 17, 2018. He retired from Choices Counseling Center in Pt. St. Lucie, Florida in 2008. Education was something that he believed you could never have enough of; he prided himself on his Greatest Accomplishment of Education which was Ministry.

A Time to relax:

In his leisure, he loved on his family one thing that he understood was time and how valuable it was, so whenever he was spending time with you it was as if you two where the only people in the world. He loved Karate and could talk about it for hours along with football. Walking with his daughter Tawana or watching her in her garden was one of his favorite past times, also helping little Conrad do his lawn work and talking or riding around with Monique. He loved running around behind the boys and games. When it came to his children and grands there was no limit for him. However, it was the talks and time spent that meant the most to him.

A time to mourn:

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Calvin Love and he leaves his love and memories of him to carry on, Gladys Lyons; his children, whom will forever love him, his two daughters, Tawana Mckinnon (Jamal) and Monique Tatum; his one and only son, Willie Conrad Lyons, Jr.; his goddaughter, Marcia Kirin Ford (Richard); his grandchildren, Pre, Satara, Shar’Bee, Julien, Capri, Sh’Kya, Sanai and Sir; his great grandchildren, Sincere, Zayani, Lennox and Asai Conrad; his one and only loving sister, whom he loved much and adored, C. Ann Smith (David); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Conrad himself wrote a list of people who he loved and in this order, Family, Gladys, Monty, Shirelle, Michelle, Tommy, Sakia, Thomas, Bylial, Shawn, Cornell, Chrysette, Michael, Laron, Thomas, Serenity, Eileen, Autumn, Jacob, Trudy, Riley, John Jones, Louise Baltimore, Tyrone, Darrin, Erica, Robert & Patty, Bill, Nancy, Margaret, Tyrone, Darlene, Danaa, Martha, Brenda, Pinky, Rosemary Lyons and the church family and he’s praying for the helpless, hopeless, lost and hurt.

Conrad's life will be celebrated at 12 Noon on Friday, February 7, 2025 in the Chapel of the Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton with viewing and visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 12 Noon.
