Antonio Dupree Gibson, known as Gibby to family and friends, departed this life on January 30, 2025, in UPMC Horizon- Farrell. The son of Mona White and Ray Gibson, Antonio was born December 2,1983 in Sharon, Pa.
Antonio spent his formative years immersed in the communities of Farrell and Keystone Charter Schools. He later found his path in the workforce, dedicating three years to Taco Bell in Butler, PA, where he showcased his leadership as a manager. His hands were never idle; Antonio was a familiar face across various landscaping businesses in Butler and the Shenango Valley. He dreamed of manifesting his own landscaping and cleaning business, a testament to his hardworking spirit and entrepreneurial vision.
A passionate Buffalo Bills fan, Antonio would light up at the mention of game day, always ready to cheer on his team with infectious enthusiasm. Music filled his heart too; he sang his soul out, defying the limitations of melody—simply reveling in the joy of every note and supporting local artists with unwavering pride. Despite his appreciation for music, he could not hold a tune, nevertheless he would sing his heart out!
Above all, Antonio cherished time spent with family and friends, especially the love he felt for his children and grandchildren, who were the brightest stars in his life. His legacy of love and laughter will forever echo in the hearts he touched.
Antonio remains loved and cherished by his parents of Sharon, as his legacy will be shared by his sons Tyrese Somerville of Sharon, Khyrie Gibson of Slippery Rock and daughters DaePreea Gibson of Hermitage, Ma’Nya Dietz of Transfer, Shayna Somerville of Farrell, and Ruth-Inez Somerville of New Castle. He also was adored by his grandchildren, KyMiaa Gibson and Ty’Karii Gibson, while anticipating the April arrival of a new granddaughter.
Precious memories and moments will be retained by his sisters Kiesha Gibson of Jonesboro, Georgia, Tiffany Hopson of Farrell, Cierra Harden of Hermitage, Patrice Lee of Farrell, Clarissa Harden of Farrell, and Tawana Heath of Sharon.
He will be lovingly remembered by his maternal grandmother, Otelia (Sam) Davis of Emporia, VA, a special cousin, Marcus (Jarisca) Atwood of East Point, Georgia, along with his godchildren, Ronald LaCamera Jr., TiMarr LaCamera, Darnel LaCamera, Shalae LaCamera, Mi’Rona LaCamera and Diamond Smith, and a score of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Antonio was proceeded in death by his twin sons Antonio Gibson Jr., and Anthony Gibson; sister, Latasha Gibson, maternal grandfather Alvin Cain Jr., paternal grandparents, Willie C. and Willard Dean Gibson, and aunts Willeye Faye Gibson-Winchester and Loreatha Gibson-Chambers.
As the family gathers to honor Antonio's life, the community is invited to the public viewing on Saturday February 8, 2025, at 10:00 am, followed by funeral services at 12:00 pm to be held at the Greater Mount Zion Church of God and Christ, 1825 Roemer Blvd, Farrell.
