Earl Lorenza Davis, son of the late Mr. Curtis and Mrs. Eddie Mae Davis, was born on March 12, 1949, in Quitman, Georgia. He peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at the Georgia War Veterans Home in Milledgeville, Georgia.
Earl attended Washington Street High School, and after graduation, he proudly enlisted in the United States Army. He served his country with honor during the Vietnam War and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Vietnam Campaign Medal in recognition of his bravery and dedication.
Following his military service, Earl moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where he worked diligently for the United States Postal Service for many years. He was widely known for his kindness, sense of humor, and generous spirit, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Marietta Taylor, Addrine Davis, Eunice Davis, and his brother, John Davis.
Earl leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved children, Cortney Davis and Erica Hammonds; three adored grandchildren, Cayleigh Davis, Chloe Davis, and Elijah Cooper; two brothers, Curtis Davis, Jr. (Linda) of Atlanta, GA, and Jamaar Davis of Quitman, GA; two sisters, Irene Davis of Quitman, GA, and Felicia McLaughlin of Atlanta, GA; his dear friend, J.C. of Quitman, GA; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Earl's warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for his family and friends will be deeply missed, but his legacy of kindness and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Earl Davis will be held Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 12:00 Noon in the BTW Funeral Services Chapel. Burial: North End Cemetery, Quitman, Georgia.
