Mrs. Ida M. Hill was born on July 4, 1940, in Attala County, West Mississippi to the late Erist T. Wallace. and Helen Lowery Wallace. She was also proceeded in death by one son Daniel Hill and one grandson Ajohnate J. Griffin. One great-granddaughter and three brothers Artist, R.B. and John Wallace, two sisters: Maggie L. Baker and Comora Wallace.
Ida received her education in the public school system of Attala County, MS. She accepted Christ at an early age and united with the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in West Mississippi. Upon relocating to East Chicago, IN and she united with the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, where she remained a faithful member until she gained her wing. Her passion and love for cooking for her family lead her to a career as a professional cook. She used her passion for cooking to show love and kindness to anyone she met.
On Friday January 31, 2025, Ida M. Hill went to her eternal rest. She leaves to cherish her memories, four daughters: Mariah J. Brown of Hammond, IN, Doris A. Hill of Hammond, IN, Patricia Hill of East Chicago, IN and Loretta Hill of Gary, IN; Three sons: Marvin Wallace and Jessie Hill of East Chicago, IN, Joe (Maxine) Hill of Merrillville, IN. One brother, James Wallace of Gary, IN. She also leaves thirteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. Devoted friends: Mrs. Perlie Williams and Mrs. Viola Upshaw, Bonus sons: Ian Avington and George Franklin.
