He is survived by his mother, Helen Chestnut, Stonewall; wife, Karen Powell, Brooklyn, NY; daughter, Shada Spencer, New Bern; brother,Donnell Powell, Las Vegas; sisters, Denise Mckelvey, Josephine Powell, New Bern, Linda Powell Anderson, Theresa Powell Bronx, NY; a host of nieces and nephews.
