Obituary For David Leverne "Bunny" "Clyde" Sims, Sr.

MR. DAVID LEVERNE "BUNNY" “CLYDE” SIMS, SR. - Age 74, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2018. He was born on January 25, 1944. David served in the United States Army from April 1967 until January 1969 where he received two purple hearts, a Silver Star, and an Air Medal. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and lastly at New Harvest Church of Ministries, was a Mason, and was preceded in death by four brothers, John Sims, James Sims, Michael Starks, and Terry Starks.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Powell Sims; two sons, Quinton Sims of Dalton, Georgia and David L. Sims, Jr. of Lawrenceville, Georgia; mother, Lillie Mae Sims; sisters, Forrestine Cooper and Willena (Johnny) Taylor; brothers, Fred Sims, Forrest Starks, Jr., Tim Sims, all of Dalton, Robert (Jackie) Starks of Tunnel Hill, Georgia, and Louis (Deborah) Macon of Columbus, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel with Dr. Nicky P. Starling and other ministers officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 7:00 until 8:00 P.M. Interment, West Hill Cemetery. Please share your thoughts and memories of Mr. David L.
