MRS. MARY BEATRICE SCALES SALTERS - affectionately known as Mae Bae, entered into earthly rest Sunday, February 9th at the age of 93.

Mary Beatrice Scales Salters was born March 1, 1931 to Meria Arelia Branch and Rev. Leslie Scales in Alabama. She was preceded in death by her mother Meria Arelia Branch Wright, her father Leslie Scales, her youngest son, Donnie Ray Salters and stepfather James Thomas Wright. Mae Ba paternal grandparents were Dave D and Martha (Mattie) Scales and maternal grandparents were General and Hattie Branch from Livingston, Alabama.

Mary Beatice Salters leaves to cherish her memory her oldest son, Vernon C. Wright; granddaughter, Victoria A. Williams and great grandson, Shaquille D. Williams; and grandson, Vernon KC (Reneesha) Wright and great grand-daughters, Naima and Nyla Wright; and daughter in love, Bazalene Wright.

Mary Beatrice Salters was a devoted avid reader of the Holy Bible and enjoyed staying informed through the daily newspapers and completing crossword puzzles. Mary was dedicated to her church, New Salam Missionary Baptist Church in Rossville, GA, which was a significant part of her life. Mary Beatrice loved to visit her paternal side of the family in Livingston, AL as often as possible and reminisce on her childhood and family with her closest cousin Marquerite Williams.

The Family would like to extend an outpouring gratitude to NHC Ft. Oglethorpe Nursing facility for your care and support during Ms. Salter’s residency. We want to give a special thanks to Mrs. Kathy Clark for all the home visits, dinners and companionship given over 30 years. We also want to extend a special thanks to Kimberly D. Robinson for sending a greeting card every month which was a delight to Mae Bae. The family also want to thank the Greene’s, the Robinson’s, the Frost’s and the Buchanan’s and New Salem Missionary Baptist Church families for making Mae Bae a part of your family and community. We appreciate your prayers, cards, calls, texts and flowers during this time. Accept our thanks and gratitude for your love and support.

Homegoing Celebration will be Saturday, February 22, 2024 at 12:00 Noon at New Salem Baptist Church, 756 Dewberry Rd, Rossville, GA 30741, with Pastor Andre Sharpe, Eulogist. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until the funeral hour. Interment; Marsh Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, GA.
