Mr. Willie James Simmons was born on September 11, 1951 to the late Idella Cannady and Nabutha Belle.

Mr. Willie passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at South Georgia Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by both parents; Idella Cannady and Nabutha Belle; his brother, Earl Belle of Chester, PA; sister, Marilyn L. Belle of Chester, PA; a nephew who was raised up with him, Rudolph Davis, Jr.

He attended Brooks County High School in 1971. After he graduated from high school, he attended the US National Guard.

Mr. Willie James Simmons attended Courtland Church of Christ for several years. He loved his church.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories; children, Lynette Sims of Americus, GA, Jerome Reynolds of Valdosta, GA, and Willie James Simmons, Jr. of Alachua, FL; sisters, Eddie Joe Davis of Quitman, GA and Bobby Jean Anderson of Chester, PA; brothers, Nathaniel Bryant of Quitman, GA, Micheal Williams of McAllen, TX, Nathaniel Belle of Chester, PA, Andrew C. Belle of Newark, DE; grandchildren, Letica Sims, Raymond Sims, Tyreka Sims, Riyahd Moore, Dawson Davis, Tavion Gray, J'Leyanna Reynolds and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, a special friend for several years Ms. Naomi Evans; and a god-sister, Laura Watts.

Funeral services are Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 4P.M. at The Courtland Avenue Church of Christ in Quitman, Georgia. Burial follows at The Family Cemetery in Quitman. Livestream will be available on this website as well as our Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home Facebook page.
