Mrs. Ruthie Mae Daniels, 82, of Augusta, GA, transitioned peacefully into eternal rest on February 10, 2025. She was a woman of deep faith, unwavering love, and boundless generosity, known for opening her heart and home to many in need. Her life was a testament to God’s grace, as she nurtured, guided, and provided for her loved ones, always standing as a pillar of strength and wisdom.

Born in Waynesboro, GA, to the late Cicero and Essie Mae Lockett-Wright, Ruthie was the eldest of thirteen children. She attended Clara-Jenkins, Murphey Middle School, and Lucy Laney High School. From an early age, she took on the role of caretaker, raising her siblings with love and dedication.

Ruthie’s love extended beyond her immediate family; she was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. Her door was always open, and her kindness knew no bounds. She worked for many years at Talmadge Hospital, which later became Augusta University, and also at Bush Field Airport, where she met people from all walks of life, leaving a lasting impression with her warmth and wisdom.

She was a devoted member of Victory Assembly of God Church, serving faithfully as an usher for many years. Ruthie believed in the power of prayer, tithing, and giving, always trusting in God's provision. She often reminded those around her, "Giving to God is the least we can do when He has been so good to us." She was a woman of strong convictions, unafraid to speak her mind—sometimes with words that cut sharper than a knife—but always from a place of love. Those who knew her understood that her honesty was rooted in her desire to see everyone thrive. Her presence brought comfort and assurance, and her prayers were known to bring about miraculous blessings. Her family and friends found peace in her wisdom and the unwavering faith she carried through every season of life.

She leaves to cherish her memory: Children: Gloria (Rickey) Mays, Joyce Wright, Sandra (Samuel) Campbell, Demetrice Hall, Percy (Jasmine) Wright. Grandchildren: Deon Grant, Alexandria Daniels, Felicia Grant, Brittney Wright, Valencia Mays, Vintoria Hatcher, Rickey Mays Jr., Victor Hatcher Jr. Great-Grandchildren: Imari Grant Jeremiah Daniels, Natalee Daniels, Denver Grant, Markyria Mims, Nolan Hatcher, Makiya Hatcher, Roman Mays. Siblings: Myrtis Dennis, Betty Bradley, Evon Wright, Maria Ramsey, Sally Kimble, all of Augusta, GA; Curtis Wright of Augusta, GA. A special niece whom she raised as her own: Johnnie M. Simmons. a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband; Hollie Lee Daniels; daughter; Deborah A. Hatcher; Siblings; Henry Lee Wright, Cicero Wright Jr., Harvey Lee Wright, Annie Ruth Hall, Brenda L. Wright, & Tony Wright.

Though she has departed from this earthly life, her legacy of faith, love, and selflessness will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now resting in the presence of the Lord, reunited with loved ones who have gone before her.

Public Viewing, 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm, Friday, February 21st, at the funeral home.

A celebration of life will be11:00 am, Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Victory Assembly of God Church, 2030 Olive Rd., Augusta, GA 30906

Interment will be in Mount Olive Memorial Gardens.
