Kelvin Freeman Barnes, of Richmond, was affectionately known as “Mr. Barnes,” “Coach,” “Mentor,” “Teacher,” and “All Around Person.” He descended to his heavenly home on Friday, February 21, 2025. Kelvin was born on November 4, 1950, to the late Joseph T. Barnes, Sr. and Jean Freeman Barnes. He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph T. Barnes, Jr. Surviving are a host of cousins and friends. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2025 at John Marshall High School, 4225 Old Brook Road, Richmond, VA.
