Mrs. Louise Walker Wilson, a beloved member of her community, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2025, at Piedmont Hospital in Augusta, Georgia.

A Celebration of Life Services is scheduled to honor her memory on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Spring Bethel AME Church, commencing at 2:00 P.M. Interment will be held in the Spring Bethel Benevolent Society Cemetery.

Public view will be held Friday, February 28, 2025 from 3:00 – 6:00 P.M.

Mrs. Wilson was born on March 30, 1944, to the now late Lee Edgar Dixon and Ada Boatwright Walker. She was surrounded with the love of 21 siblings. Throughout her life, she embraced her role as a devoted homemaker, nurturing her family with love and care.

Mrs. Wilson was a dedicated member of the Spring Bethel AME Church, where she found joy in singing and actively participating in worship, expressing her faith and devotion to God. In 2008, she became a cherished member of the New Day Worship Center, where she served as an active Mother Missionary and contributed significantly to the Helping Ministry, embodying the spirit of service and compassion.

She leaves behind a loving family, including her son, Gregory (Delicia) Wilson of McDonough, Georgia; her daughters, Gail Dixon of Wrens, Georgia, and Erika Jones (Anthony) of Augusta, Georgia. Mrs. Wilson is also survived by her brothers, Charlie Dixon of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, three sisters including Eunice Avera, Louise Neely of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Rose Burley of Wrens, Georgia. Additionally, she is remembered fondly by her sisters-in-law, Lucinda Walker, Retha Mae Walker, and Louran Dixon of Wrens, Georgia, and Pam Dixon of Warner Robins, Georgia, as well as her brother-in-law, Oscar Gilbert Sr. of West Palm Beach, Florida.

Mrs. Wilson’s legacy lives on through her grandchildren: Javonte, Gabrielle, SheKira, Destiny, Monifah, Herman, Demetrius, and Jeremy. Furthermore, she is survived by 16 great-grandchildren and a vast network of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends who will cherish her memory.

As we gather to celebrate the life of Mrs. Louise Walker Wilson, we remember her spirit of love, faith, and dedication to her family and community. Her enduring legacy will continue to inspire all who knew her.
