Mr. Johnny Lee Jenkins, Sr., 83, of Baconton, Georgia departed this life on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at his residence in Baconton, Georgia 31716.
Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. in the St. Mary's Missionary Baptist Church, 6829 St Marys Rd, Baconton, GA 31716.
Interment will follow in the New Salem Baptist Church, 9925 Stage Coach Road, Baconton, Georgia 31716.
Johnny Lee Jenkins, Sr., affectionately known as “John Lee” or “Uncle Buddy” to others, was born to the late Griffin and Lula Bell Jenkins on October 3, 1942.
He was educated in the Lee County and Mitchell County School System.
He confessed Christ at an early age and joined The Saint James Missionary Baptist Church. He was ordained as a Deacon in 2003. He served until his health began to fail.
He worked at Georgia Power in multiple positions, but predominantly as a welder for 38 years.
He was joined in holy matrimony to the late Beatrice B. Jenkins. To this union, nine children were born.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Jenkins; two daughters, Christine Wilson and Greta Thomas; two grandchildren, Archie Toombs III and Tameshia Sutton; and brother, Griffin Jenkins, Jr.
He leaves to mourn his loss, Jacquelyn Jenkins of Albany, GA; Maro (Dennis) Johnson of Leesburg, GA; Angelia (Tyrone) Sutton of Albany, GA; Carla (Willie) Moore of Newton, GA; Janice (Richard) Morris of Baconton, GA; Johnny Lee Jenkins, Jr., of Baconton, GA; Tanga Davis of Albany, GA; Shereida Jenkins and Sophelia Jenkins of Albany, GA; Herman William of Albany, GA; Marvin Barnes of Pelham, GA; Martin (Janitta) Barnes of Baconton, GA; Johnny (Sheila) Barnes of Atlanta, GA; William Barnes of Atlanta, GA; two sisters, Bertha Simmons and Lula Simmons, and one brother, Willie Jenkins, all of Baconton, GA; three bonus sons, Desmond Jenkins of Woodbridge, VA, Richard (Victoria) Morris of Chicago, IL, and Keon (Kieara) Jenkins of Albany, GA; 64 grandchildren; 116 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren; a special and caring neighbor, Ulysses Lambert; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
