Funeral service for Cassandra Houston, 52, of Opelika, AL, will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Harris Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Evergreen Cemetery, 1409 Monroe Avenue, Opelika, AL, 36801, Reverend Roger Jones will officiate.

Ms. Houston, who passed away Thursday, February 27, 2025 at her home in Opelika, Alabama, was born August 26, 1972, in Chambers County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Tuesday, March 4, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory: four children, Kevin O’Bryant Houston, Simone Ann Houston, Christopher Lee Houston and Bryant La’Keith Houston all of Opelika, AL; six grandchildren, Ta’Niah Renee Houston, Klay O’rion Houston, Kole O’Konnor Houston, Lakevia Monique Houston, Carter Isiah Houston and La’Kerria Monae Houston all of Opelika, AL; father, Dezzie B. Truitt of Birmingham, AL; three aunts, Wanda (Terry) Jennings of Muskegon, MI, Demetria Jenkins of Opelika, AL and Caponya Jenkins of Columbus, GA; one uncle, Frederick Jenkins of Columbus, GA; three nephews, Cordelro Mitchell, Robert Mitchell and Jarvis Taylor; one niece, Shenavis Menefield; special friend, David Humphrey; a host of other relatives and friends.
