George Edward Teague

With deepest sympathy we announce the passing of George Teague.

A time to be born - George Edward Teague, Sr. was born in Ohatchee, AL on July 28,1944. He was the oldest of eleven children born to the late Sylvester and Corine Madden Teague. His brother, Sylvester (Bubba) Teague, Jr. preceded him in death.

A time to plant - George spent his childhood and teenage years in Calhoun County, AL.He confessed his faith in Christ at an early age and became a member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Ohatchee, AL. He attended Grayton Elementary School during his childhood years and graduated from Calhoun County Training School in 1962.

A time to love - After high school, George relocated to Chicago, IL, where met the love of his life, Charity Oliver. George and Charity were joined in holy matrimony on March 20, 1965. To this union, two children were born, George Jr. and Cormella. Cormella preceded him in death. He will always be remembered for this devotion to his family.

A time to laugh - George was a quiet - natured man who loved the outdoors. He enjoyed farming and tending to his cattle and horses. He often went hunting and fishing, taking his boat out on the water whenever he had the chance. He also had a passion for driving. For over 30 years, he was an over-the-road driver for Landstar Ligon Trucking Company. He traveled across the United States and often shared stories of his life on the road. After retirement, he obtained his “Road Rights” and started his own business,“Teague Trucking.” He was truly an entrepreneur and never shied away from hardwork.

A time to die -George entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at Regional Medical Center in Anniston, AL. He leaves to cherish a lifetime of memories - Wife: Charity B. Teague; Son: George Teague Jr. (Sonja) ; Grandson: Montez Boyd; Granddaughter: Judith Collins; Siblings: Clarene Teague Johnson, Linda (Horace) Teague Dorsey, Robert (Virginia) Teague, Stevie Teague, James Teague, Aletha Teague, Debra (Michael) Williams, Josie (Earl) Teague Hampton, Meochia Teague; Brothers in Law; Alton (Mary) Oliver, Robert (Margaret) Oliver, Sisters-In-Law: Corris Mangrum and Mary Stanton; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Tuesday, March 11, 2025 1:00PM at Gadsden Memorial Funeral Home

INTERMENT: Ohatchee First Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 265 Jericho Trail, Ohatchee, AL
