Following his initial sea duty assignments, he earned a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1993. Commander Christy‘s experience in the Navy allowed him the opportunity to travel to numerous places, experience different cultures, and meet a diverse group of people. His naval experience helped him to gain a better understanding of the vast differences yet similarities among the human race.

In 2013, he retired from the Navy, and in September 2014, he began his civilian career with the federal government.
