Lynn Stanley Oliver was born to the late Junious and Anna Liza Moody Oliver on May 9, 1953, in Richmond, Virginia. On March 4, 2025, Lynn was called to his heavenly home by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Lynn was educated at Bluestone High School where he graduated. After graduation, Lynn married his high school sweetheart, Floyzell Jones. They were joined as one for 37 years before her passing. He was employed at Burlington Industries before he found his true calling in corrections. Lynn retired from the Department of Corrections. Lynn wanted to do more in life after retirement and he found a new passion in owning and operating Michelle’s Home Cooking Café. He worked tirelessly to make the restaurant a success. During his time at Michelle’s Café, he gained many friendships with others. Lynn loved to collect cars. He was a member of the New Birth Car Club.
Lynn leaves to cherish his memories; one son, Bryant Oliver; one daughter, LaWanda (Steve) McKinnies; four grandchildren that he was active and proud of, Kevin Oliver, Surraye McKinnies, Brhyanna McKinnies, Samaria McKinnies; for sisters, Sherdine (Corwin) Burtton, Gracie (Larry) Thompson, Corretta Oliver, Susan Elam; one sister-in-law, Neomi Oliver; two aunts, Louise Moody, Versie Moody; a special friend, Michelle Davis; lifelong friend, Earnest Burwell, a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends, in which his love and legacy will live through them. Lynn’s love touched so many.
There will be a visitation on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 from 2:00PM-6:00PM at Carter's Funeral, located at 206 Virginia Avenue, Clarksville, VA 23927.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 1:00PM at the New Liberty Baptist Church, located at 77 New Liberty Church Road, Clarksville, VA 23927.
