Emma Smith, 87, of Ft. Mitchell, AL passed on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 in Ft. Mitchell, AL.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. EST on Friday, March 21, 2025 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Gregory Sutton, pastor, officiating. Public viewing is 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST on Thursday, March 20, 2025.
Ms. Emma Lee Smith, born on June 13, 1937, in Russell County, AL to the late Sylvester and Mary Smith transitioned from this life on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.
Emma was the second of three children and had
a strong foundation in faith and family. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and became a devoted and active member of Mount Olive Baptist Church. Throughout her years of faithful service, she was involved in Bible Study, Vacation Bible School, Sunday School, and the Usher Board. She also had the honor of serving as the president of the Mission Ministry. A dedicated and hard-working woman,
Emma retired from Fieldcrest Inc. Outside of work, she was an active member of several women's groups and enjoyed socializing and traveling with them. She also enjoyed watching Christian programs, westerns, crime dramas, and the news, always staying informed about current affairs and politics.
She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Jack Wright; sister-in-law, Minister Ophelia Smith, and nephew, Jimmy Wright.
Emma cherished her family. She found great joy in visiting and conversing with her siblings.
Emma's legacy lives on through her four children, Willie Robinson of Ft. Mitchell, AL, Gloria Willingham of McDonough, GA, Nelson Robinson of Anchorage, AK and Edward Robinson of Atlanta, GA; her brother, Sylvester Smith, Jr. of Phenix City, AL; sister, Lillie I. Wright of Columbus, GA; nine grandchildren, Monica Robinson (Joshua), Crissy Alexander
(Antonio), Tasha Williams, Taneka Robinson, Crystal Robinson (Jarvis), Ricky Robinson, Cedric Brooks, MaKaila Willingham, and Zoe Willingham; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Emma Lee Smith navigated life with unwavering faith, strength, courage, and grace. Her love, faithfulness. strength and resilience will continue to inspire and guide her family and friends, serving as a reminder of the remarkable woman she was.
