A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 22, 2025 12pm Cassie Coote-Brown Memorial Chapel at Perry J. Brown Funeral Home 909 East Market Street Greensboro, North Carolina.
Denicia “Neice Kat” Williamson left us on March 13, 2025 at Beacon Place (Authora Care) in Greensboro, North Carolina. She was a radiant and compassionate soul whose presence brought immense joy and light to everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Born on July 23, 1974 to Dennis Williamson and Patricia Anderson Williamson in Annie Penn Memorial Hospital in Reidsville, North Carolina. Denicia was a sweet, wonderful child who grew up under the loving care of her late grandmother Clara Swann Anderson and her aunt Levada Anderson in Yanceyville, North Carolina while her mother and father worked. She later moved to Danville, Virginia with her mother and attended George Washington High School. She joined the Job Corps and served two years. She later moved to 1800 “J” Street in Greensboro, North Carolina where she loved baking cakes, taking care of kids, and raising animals. Her favorite was “Shelby”, her pet yorkie.
Her kindness and unwavering loyalty endeared her to friends and family alike. Denicia had no children of her own, but she devoted herself to her baby sister, Tyra Cooper and later the “J” Street crew (adopted sisters – Jonelle Henry, Sherry Simmons; Lamar Tucker, Anton Chapman, and Jeremy Simoneaux).
When anyone asked her about her struggle with cancer, Denicia’s words would be, “I’m taking it one day at a time.”
She is survived by her loving family, Patricia Hill (Harrison), Dennis Williamson (Diane), grandmother: Bessie Odell Stevens, sister: Tyra Cooper, stepsister: Lakisha Hernden, and a host of relatives and friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared and love she brought into their lives. Her departure leaves a void that can never be filled, but her spirit will continue to inspire and guide those she left behind.
Rest in peace, sweet baby; we will see you again.
