Shannon Evans, 44, passed on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 in Montgomery, AL.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. EST on Saturday, March 22, 2025 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Desi Morgan, officiating. Public viewing is 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. EST on Friday, March 21, 2025.
Mr. Shannon Lamar Evans was born June 7, 1980, in Phenix City, Alabama, to Lois Jean Evans and the late Marshall Lewis Evans.
He departed this life on Wednesday, March 12, 2025. He is survived by his loving mother Lois Jean Evans; two siblings, his sisters Katrina Taylor Edmond and Shelia Evans Mathis ; his grandfather Ralph Evans and step-grandmother Victoria Evans, several, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins and a community of other family, friends and love ones that will cherish his memories.
Shannon was a loving and supportive husband to Demetria Webster of Opelika, Alabama, a loving father to his three sons, Treyveriol Glover-Evans, Shannon Lamar Evans Jr., and Javeon Evans, and his daughter Teontia T’cheal Shantrey Evans, and stepdaughter Jadah Thomas.
Shannon was a proud professional truck driver for over a decade. He began his trucking career with Swift and later joined the Walmart fleet. He served as an Ambassador for Walmart and a trainer for new drivers. He was a professional who continuously operated safely. On the day of his Medical Emergency, he parked his truck safely off the road, turned on his hazard lights, and followed safety procedures to ensure the safety of others while awaiting Emergency Services arrival.
Shannon was known for being a respectful, kind, and professional leader amongst his peers. He loved fishing and making his yard look the best in the neighborhood. He enjoyed giving fun facts about life, nature, and history. Shannon will be missed by many who loved and cherished him, including many lifelong friends, but God loved him most. Shannon was a born-again believer and follower of Jesus Christ.
