Mason M. Preston, Sr., 91 of Spencer, VA and formerly of Martinsville, passed away Tuesday, March 18th, 2025. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Oliver Preston, father Ernest M Preston; mother, Lula Bella Preston Trott, and two sisters, Martha Preston Perry, and Ellen Preston Mitchell.

He is survived by his son, and daughter-in-law, Mason M. Preston, Jr. and Michelle Preston of Waterbury, CT, daughter, and son-in-law Debbie and Joseph Galluzzo of Bethel, CT., five grandchildren, Mason M. Preston, III, Kiyanah, Joshuah, Jaydah and Kamoyah, two sisters Lessie P. Moody of Pheonix, AZ and Gloria Stewart of Baltimore, MD., and many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation to his caregivers.

A funeral service will be held Monday, March 31, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home, 301 Fayette St., Martinsville. Interment will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens, 869 Parkway Dr., Martinsville, VA.

A public viewing will be held on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at Hairston Funeral Home, 301 Fayette St., Martinsville between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family kindly ask that donations in his honor be made to the National Alzheimer’s Association.
