Mack E . Robinson, was born on January 1 , 1940 to the late
Mack and Rosa L. Robinson of Dixie, Georgia.
Mack attended and graduated from the Brooks County Public School System.
He attended the following institutes: Clark Atlanta University, Florida A&M University and Valdosta State
College. During this time, he obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Biology.
He completed several courses at FAMU, and later transferred to Valdosta State College to obtain his Master's Degree. While attending Clark Atlanta, he was a drum major
for the Panthers.
He began his teaching career in Thomas County, where he retired, Head of the Biology Department in 1996. He often spent his summers a s a watermelon broker for many, many years.
He was a faithful member of Friendship AME Church, where he
served as the superintendent of Sunday school and a vocalist in the choir.
On March 8, 2025, he departed his earthly life in exchange for his heavenly home. He leaves behind his wife of 64 vears. Mrs. Mabel L. Robinson; three “unique” children;
Reena Robinson-Timms (Wilbert), Yolanda Golden-Smith (Randy) and
Ervin "Reco" Robinson (Kim).
To further carry on his memories, he leaves behind twelve grandchildren as follows: La’Keisha B . Chappell, Marven E. Chappell, II, La'Teisha B. Stephens, Tyrica Robinson, Jonathan
Robinson (LaKeshia), Shamari Rountree, Christyl Smith, Randy Smith, Shamantha Parson (Demetrius), Tanisha Monroe (Terry), Meazhia Wilson and Brittney Timms; sixteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Mack is survived by three siblings, Joan F. Henderson, Joseph R. Robinson (Carolyn) and Allie R. Terry, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Rosa L. Robinson and one great grandson, Pharrell Cowser.
Visitation will be Friday, March 21, 2025 at the Stevens-McGhee chapel from 3-7PM.
Home Going services will be Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Friendship AME Church at 3PM. Burial will follow in The Robinson Family Cemetery. Visit this website or our Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home Facebook page to view a livestream of the celebration.
