MRS. SHIRLEY LAVINA MITCHELL – Age 80, of Dalton, Georgia and formerly of Brooklyn, New York passed away on Friday, September 14, 2018. She was preceded in death by her mother, Naomi Jarman Moore, father, Lanford Martin, stepfather, George Moore, sisters, Gloria Robinson Smith, Helena Watkins, brothers, William Martin, Earl Martin, and grandson, Hodarie Mitchell. She was a member of Community Fellowship Church. She is survived by her three children, daughter, Patricia Buxton of Dalton, Georgia; sons, Roderick Mitchell, Andre Mitchell, of Augusta, Georgia; eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Community Fellowship Church of Ministries, 409 North Fredrick Street, Dalton, Georgia 30721 with Dr. David Thomas officiating. Her remains will lie in state at the funeral home on Friday after 11:00 A.M. Interment, West Hill Cemetery.
