Hattie M. Anderson was born in Newark, New Jersey on March 25, 1939, to the late Ruben and Willie Mae Inman of Quitman, GA. She entered into rest on March 20, 2025. Hattie lived in the Augusta, Ga. area for many years. She attended Morven Rosenwald High School in Brooks County, GA., and furthered her education as a nurse in Fitzgerald, GA. She began her career at the Thomson-McDuffie Hospital, where she worked for 11 years.
Hattie and Marion were joined in holy matrimony January 20, 1961. She then moved to Augusta where she worked at University Hospital in Augusta, GA., for 19 years. She finished her career at the Augusta Urology Surgical Center, where she worked for 10 years.
Hattie belonged to the Church of Christ where she was a faithful member until her death. She was a loving and caring person who always took care of her family members, up until her last days. She loved going to family and class reunions and loved spending time with her sisters. She enjoyed walking, working in the yard, and baking cakes and other delicious dishes.
Hattie was preceded in death by her sister, Rosa Inman and two brothers, Samuel Inman and Daniel Inman.
She leaves to cherish her memories: A loving husband, Marion Anderson, Augusta, GA; Four loving children, Anthony Anderson, Janice Anderson, Jennifer Anderson, and Wendell Anderson all of Augusta, GA; Two brothers Thomas (Elizabeth) Inman, Houston, TX; Nathaniel (Mattie) Inman, Lakeland, FL; Two loving sisters, Loretta James, Riviera, Beach FL; Christene Bean, Riviera Beach, FL; Six loving Grandchildren Bianca Jackson, Alexis Anderson, Xavier Anderson, Angel Anderson, Shawn Anderson, and Aiden Anderson; one great grandson Ahmad Marion Anderson; two sisters-in-law, Gloria Inman, Helen Inman and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be 11:00 am, Saturday, March 29, 2025, at D'Antignac Street Church of Christ, 1002 D'Antignac Street. Interment, Bellevue Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday, from 4pm to 6 pm at Kinsey & Walton Funeral Home, 3618 Peach Orchard Road. (706) 790-8858
