Graveside Services for Mr. Lee Odis McDaniel, of Stone Mountain, GA., will be held Wednesday, April 2, 2025, 11:00 A.M. at Westview Cemetery, 1680 Westview Drive, Atlanta, GA. Reverend Richard Flippin, Officiating, Eulogist. Public Viewing and Visitation will be held at the mortuary Tuesday, 12:00 NOON until 8:00 P.M.
Lee Odis McDaniel was born January 23, 1943 to the late Clarence and Josie McDaniel in Cotton Plant Arkansas. He attended and was baptized at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church. He often shred stories about growing up on a farm and the work he did to support it.
He was the youngest of eight siblings. He moved from Cotton Plant to Los Angeles, California when he was 14, where he graduated from high school. In Los Angeles Lee met Maude Mims. They were married September 20, 1964. To this union there were two daughters born. This same year Lee was initiated into the Masons.
Lee served as deacon at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church and was later ordained as a minister, where he served faithfully under Reverend KD Friend.
Lee worked at Del Monte Foods for over 28 years. He worked up from the warehouse floor to Regional District Manager. During that time he was transferred from LA to Boston and from Boston to Atlanta.
Lee enjoyed traveling and the outdoors, especially golf, camping, hunting and fishing with his family. During his life he was able to complete several bucket list items including attending the Super Bowl, the Masters, and US Open golf tournaments.
After retiring Lee stayed active working at Mystery Valley golf course and supported their youth programs.
He leaves in cherished memories, devoted wife Maude, two daughters and one grandson who all reside in Georgia. Lee is also survived by one sister, Mary Royal of Los Angeles and countless nieces and nephews. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery Wednesday, at 10:45 A.M.
