Mr. John Stacy Tyson

Passed 03/30/2025

John Stacey Tyson was the first child born to John H. & Betty Jo Tyson on September 21, 1968 in Lilesville, NC.

He was a student of the Anson County school system and graduated from Anson Senior High in June of 1986.

After high school, John joined the United States Navy, where he was a proud sailor for 10 years. Being a culinary specialist 2nd class brought him great joy. During this tenure, he was assigned to different ships and deployments, but he mostly spoke about his time on the USS Hunley, where he made many lifetime friends. Many medals and accommodations were awarded to him. His final duty station was the Navy Air Station in Jacksonville, Florida.

It depends on which stage of life you met him that determined which name you knew him by. Some knew him as John, some as Stacey, and others as Tyson. Nevertheless, the name, the person never changed. All met the loving, caring, kindhearted man he was.

No matter the location, John never met a stranger. He wanted everyone to be up to date with all the current and future news. Before the conversation ended, he ensured you were equipped with articles to read and supplies needed.

John's loving heart led him to have many young people that he called his children. He never turned them away and always provided advice, guidance, support, a listening ear, and, most of all, love.

John was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Jo Tyson.

He leaves to cherish his memories his love, Annie; daughters, Cornelcia and Lourie; sons, Jaycobi, Javal, and Brandon; grandchildren, Cobi, Braylyn, Easton, Honey, Jayna, Ashira, Jalayah, and Alana. His father, John Tyson; brother, Stafford (Nitashua) Tyson, sister Sherry (Dennis) Horne; uncle, John (Wanda) Allen; aunt, Carrie Ricks; god kids, Tristan, Josh, and Gianna. His best friend, LeAndre (Aisha) Griffin. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
