Reginna Gale Homra

01/24/1959 - 03/21/2025

Reginna "Gina" Gale Homra was born in Belen, New Mexico, to Richard and Frankie Huff. The family of seven later moved to Lovington and then Truth or Consequences, NM, where Gina had her first daughter, Lenora. It was there that she met the love of her life, David (Dave) Homra, on the Fourth of July, 1976.

Gina and Lenora would later join Dave in Denver, Colorado where they were married on October 21, 1978. Gina and David welcomed their second daughter, Candina, shortly after being married. Their son, Jonathan would follow 11 years later. The family grew again when Lenora gave birth to their grandson, Kevin, making Gina and David proud grandparents.

Gina embarked on a brief tour through Northern Texas with a band before briefly modeling for Universal Studios, and while working in downtown Denver, she was discovered by a production company and invited to shoot a commercial, but she chose to leave all opportunities behind to care for her children.

Gina earned her GED after attending Hot Springs High School and graduated from Barnes Business College in 1991 with a degree in Business Administration. She proudly missed only one day of college, to witness the birth of her grandson. She went on to work as a Medicare agent, where she thoroughly enjoyed helping her senior client base.

In 1994, Gina’s life was forever changed when her daughter, Lenora, was severely injured by a drunk driver. Gina devoted the next 10 years to caring for Lenora at home, and continued to be actively involved in her care after Lenora moved to assisted living. A passionate advocate, Gina spoke for Mothers Against Drunk Drivers (MADD), sharing her story and raising awareness about the dangers of drunk driving.

Gina was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her bright and lively energy would light up a room and she made countless friends over the years. She was considered a second mom to many of her children's friends. Her passions included flower gardening, singing, poetry, dancing and painting but made it apparent to anyone who knew her that her greatest joy was being a mother and grandmother. Her beautiful yard and flower beds were immaculately curated and maintained and she loved sharing her work with her family, friends and neighbors. Always an animal lover, she had many pets that she loved through the years including dogs, cats, bunnies, birds and more.

Gina was preceded in death by her beloved father, mother and her youngest brother, Michael.

She is survived by her husband, David; daughters- Lenora Homra and Candina (Noe) Cruz; son, Jonathan (Amanda) Homra; grandson, Kevin (Chloe) Homra; sisters- Carmen and Nola; brother, Nathan; and many nieces, nephews and friends who became family.

Reginna passed away unexpectedly on March 21, 2025, just outside of Truth or Consequences, NM. She will be so deeply missed by all of her loved ones, especially her husband, children and grandson. Services have yet to be announced.

"In the breeze, in the sky, In the flowers that wave by, In the stars, the sun, the sea, I’ll be there, forever free. In every bloom, in every ray, I’ll be with you, come what may. In the wind, in the sky above, I’ll live on, in the hearts I love."
