LouElla Walker Lawson

The funeral services for the late Mrs. LouElla Lawson, who departed this life on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, will be held on Sunday, April 6, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. from the Greater St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church in Ashburn, Georgia. Reverend Christopher Douglas will deliver the Eulogy. Burial will follow in the Westview Memorial Cemetery in Ashburn, Georgia. Mrs. LouElla Lawson was born on May 17, 1937, in Turner County, Ashburn, Georgia, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert “Jalbo” and Sally Crockett-Walker. She received her education in the Turner County Public School System. At an early age, LouElla gave her life to Christ and became a devoted member of New Mt. Olive Baptist Church.

In 1963, LouElla was united in Holy Matrimony to the Mr. Arthur Lawson, and together they shared the blessing of raising six children. During her career at M&W Sportswear, she forged many deep and lasting friendships, and she cherished the time spent with her family, finding great joy and peace in those moments.

On Tuesday afternoon, April 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, LouElla peacefully answered God's call and went to be with her Heavenly Father.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her grandchild, Annettra Tolbert, and her siblings, Jerome Walker, Fay Walker, Addie Walker, Martha Walker, Larry Walker, Minnie Bailey, and Sonny Walker.

LouElla leaves to cherish her memory her children, Patricia Chatfield, Deborah (Charles) Windom, both of Ashburn, Georgia, Arthur (Cassandra) Lawson, Jr. of Tifton, Georgia, Derenne (Rodney) Hillmon, Antonia (Juanita) Lawson, Zoronta (Denise) Lawson, all of Ashburn, Georgia; her siblings, Kathleen Daniels, Clay (Daisy) Walker, Feltine Cross, all of Ashburn, Georgia, Ben (Lue) Walker of Columbia, South Carolina, Terry (Felicia) Walker of Salem, Alabama, Vetta (Hubert) Taylor of Fitzgerald, Georgia; her sisters-in-law, Eloise Walker, Wanda Lawson, Tommie King, Margaret Smith, Vera Walker, all of Ashburn, Georgia, Sharon Fullmore, Inez Thomas, both of Tifton, Georgia brother-in-law, Nathaniel Lawson of Ashburn, Georgia; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

She also leaves behind special friends, Ms. Barbara Johnson and Ms. Laura Fugerson, whose friendships and love she cherished deeply.
