Frank Courtney, Sr., 73, of Huntsville, Alabama, died Friday, March 28, 2025 at his residence.

He was a retired SSG in the U.S. Army, a member of the VFW and DAV amd the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Marie Courtney; his parents, Roseanna Servis Courtney and Walter Courtney, Sr.; two brothers, Johnny Courtney and Lee Andrew Courtney; three sisters, Annie Ruth Hodges-Fairley, Dorothy Peoples and Gloria Wimbley.

He is survived by two sons, Frank Courtney, Jr. (Cynthia), Huntsville, Alabama and Dexter Jefferson, Minneapolis, Minnesota ; a daughter, Arthurine L. Vinson, Ft. Knox, KY; 14 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; seven brothers, Walter Courtney, Jr., Chris Courtney, John Henry Courtney (Shirley), Robert Lee Courtney, Charles Courtney, Ivory J. Courtney and David E. Courtney; four sisters, Maggie Phillips, Betty Munson, Doretha Courtney and Ola Mae Brooks (Ronald).

The funeral will ab held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, April 7, 2025 at Percell & Sons Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with the Rev. Ronald Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in the KY Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, KY with full military rites.
