Obituary For William Mathews, Jr.

Funeral service for William Mathews, Jr. will be 2pm, Saturday at Liberty Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Hood, eulogist. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of John R. Harmon Undertaking Co. On September 16, 2018, William departed this life.

He was born November 28, 1965 in Naples, Texas. He was a 1983 graduate of Chapel Hill High School and was lifelong resident of Smith County. William was a member of Warren Chapel C. M. E. Church and was a truck driver.

He was the founder of Slow Motion Racing and loved motorcycles. He served in the U. S. Army.

Preceding him in death were his father and brother.

Survivors include: wife, Jackie Mathews, Tyler; mother, Trudy Mathews, Tyler; three sons, Brandon Mathews, Tyler, Emmanuel Mathews, Dallas, William P. Mathews III (Alesha), Chandler; one daughter, Shalyni Mathews, Tyler; one brother, Alandus Mathews (Yumeatrice) , Scurry; one sister, Dee Dee Robinson, Dallas; and 7 grandchildren
