Rickey Sims, 63, of Phenix City, AL passed on Sunday, April 6th, 2025 in Phenix City, AL.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. EST on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at St. Paul CME Church, Crawford, AL with Rev. Dr. Raynetta Prevo-Williams, pastor, officiating, Rev. Ruby Cobb, eulogist. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing is 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST on Friday, April 11, 2025.
Mr. Rickey James Sims was born on November 27, 1961, in Phenix City, AL to the late Griffin Sims, Sr. and the late Gertrude Phillips Sims. He peacefully departed this life on Sunday, April 6, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Rickey was a member of St. Paul C.M.E. Church joining under the leadership of Elder James Q. Smith.His faith and commitment to his community were a testament to his kind giving nature.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Ralph Phillips, and his beloved granddaughter, Jade E. Stalling.
Rickey leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories, including his devoted wife, Annette Stalling Sims of Phenix City, AL; his sons, Darius (Kijuana) Stalling of Virginia Beach, VA, and Damian Stalling of Phenix City, AL; his adoring grandchildren, Kamiyah and Darius Stalling, Jr. of Virginia Beach, VA; six brothers, Freddie Phillips Cleveland (Valeria) Phillips, Griffin Sims, Jr. of Phenix City, AL, Johnny (Tonya) Sims, and Nicholas (Yolanda) Sims of Columbus, GA; sisters, Brenda (Marvin) Cochran; his devoted sister-in-law, Jeanette (Reuben)Woods of Seale, AL; three brothers-in-law, Harold Stalling of Ladonia, AL, Jeffrey Stalling of Vancouver, Canada and Reginald (Zannette) Stalling of Tacoma, WA; four aunts, Callie Johnson of Woodbridge, VA, Helen Sims, Lula Sims of Columbus, GA and Rosie Sims of Chicago, IL; and a hist of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
