Steve Saxton, 54, of Phenix City, Alabama passed on Sunday, April 6, 2025 in Phenix City, AL.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. EST on Saturday, April 26, 2025 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Harrison Ford, officiating. There will be no public visitation.

Steve Saxton was born on October 23, 1970, to the late Annie Pearl Saxton and James Saxton in Phenix City, AL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Annie Pearl Saxton and James Saxton, his brother, Eddie James Saxton, and his sister Janet Saxton.

Steve passed away peacefully in his home on April 6, 2025.

He attended Chavala High School in Seale, AL and graduated with the class of 1989. He worked as a housekeeper at St. Francis Hospital.

Steve was known and loved in the community for his humorous personality, loud laugh, and ability to get the crowd going at any event. He enjoyed spending time with his family at cookouts, watching football, dancing, and listening to music. He was affectionately known as “Big Sexy”. Steve was the life of the party and was often known for yelling “Heyyyyyyyyyy” at every family gathering.

He is survived by his sisters, Regena Jessie of Phenix City, AL, Monicka Saxton of Dublin, VA, Latoya (Freddie) Torres of Columbus, GA; brothers, Arthur Jessie of Phenix City, AL, Eddie Jessie of Phenix City, AL, Hilton (Diane) Saxton of Columbus, GA, Bobby (Lisa) Saxton of Atlanta, GA, and Samuel Saxton, of Panama City, FL, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He also leaves behind a special friend of 20 years, Diane Ford and her two daughters Talisha Ford and Britney Ford.
