Eber Dario Berrospi Segurra

06/08/1972 - 04/05/2025

Eber Dario Berrospi Segura aged 52, passed away on April 5th, 2025 after a 4-year long

battle with lung cancer. After several days of frequent hospital visits from extended-family

members, he passed in the arms of all 4 of his immediate family members.

Eber was born June 8th, 1972 in Lima, Peru and moved into the United States in 1994 when

he was 22 years old. Around 1998 he had met his wife-to-be Angelica Gonzalez. The two

had been together and had their first-born son David Berrospi in 2000 and the second born

daughter in 2001, both of whom were frequently commented on for bearing striking

resemblance to their father and mother, respectively. Eber and Angelica had a formal

wedding in 2003 and had never left each other’s side since. Later in 2006 the family was

joined by a similarly handsome boy Sebastian, named after Eber’s late mother Sebastiana.

Although he could no longer remember her voice or what she looked like, he still loved her

and said that she was the kindest, most loving person he had ever met.

Eber had spent the majority of his life in the U.S working low paying jobs, working odd hours

and even being away on some occasions, to support his family financially. He would

eventually find a factory supervisor position at Healthier Choice flooring and again at

Mayberry Rugs where he would remain until his cancer did not allow him to work anymore.

Eber had an extreme aptitude for cooking. Always learning new methods of cooking his

favorite dishes and writing new recipes. Renowned among family and friends, his Peruvian

dishes would always be cooked in a perfect amount of tangy, savory sauces with heat that

left the meat entrees juicy, suave and tender. He guests would always be left asking “what’s

next?” after finishing thirds.

Eber liked to fill his time doing something useful when possible. He would teach himself

guitar or be reading about personal finance and investing. He also had a minor proficiency

in home repairs, fixing his current home to be habitable for his family. He would frequently

find himself lost in filmography and have a brand-new film playing in the living room nearly

every day. Through the beach, he always felt a deep connection with the earth from

listening to the sea, feeling the breeze and getting sand between his toes.

Eber was an extremely empathetic and benevolent individual. Anyone that had the fortune

to meet him commented on his limitless capability to love. He held a lot of care for God’s

creations and would grow his own backyard vegetables, compost, and recycle whenever

possible. He would show deep compassion towards animals, allowing those in his care to

have as much space as possible to roam and taking them on daily walks to the local park.

He is preceded in death by his late mother Sebastiana Segura Paucar and his brother

Freddy Berrospi Segura.

He is survived by his wife Angelica M. Berrospi Gonzalez; children David Berrospi, Isabel

Berrospi and Sebastian Berrospi; father Dario Berrospi Isidro, brother Ronald David

Berrospi Palomino; sisters Angelica Sifuentes Berrospi, Guadelupe Perez Berrospi,

Teodolinda Berrospi, Irma Luisa Berrospi, Silvia Berrospi, Cynthia Berrospi and Pilar

Berrospi; nephews Angel

A visitation for Eber will be held at Willis Funeral Home on Wednesday April 9th, 2025 from

6pm til 8pm. A church service will be held at St Joseph’s Catholic Church on Thursday April

10th, 2025 at 1pm.

The last thing he left the earth knowing how to do was to love genuinely. May we all learn to

love half as much as he did.
