God granted us an angel on July 31, 2024, by the name of JOURNI ANNETTE MAE CARELOCK. Journi was strong and her eyes and smile lit up the room and melted your heart. She was soft as a feather.

Our “Newna” & “Snuk”, our little angel was called to the Lord on April 9, 2025.

She is preceded by her grandparents, Ralph and Linda Ingram and Ernest Pemberton.

Journi is survived by her parents: Anthony and Mary Carelock. She is also survived by grandmother, Rachel Carelock and Uncle Robert Rome, both of Ansonville, NC. Aunts: Nanette (Philip) Patterson of Rockingham, NC, Chanel (Eldric) Polk, Latasha (Bruce) Hall, Latraya Ingram (Dennis) all of Burnsville, NC, and Monique Ingram of Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Journi has a host of great Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. We would like to recognize Journi’s special Aunt Bertha Carelock. We appreciate the care and love that you gave our little one.

The services to honor the gift of Journi’s precious life will be on Saturday, April 19, 2025, 1:00pm, Smith’s Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Interment will be in the family plot of the Cedar Hill AME Zion Church Cemetery, Ansonville, North Carolina.

The family visitation will be from 12:30-1:00pm.
