Kenneth “Kappy” Akins, 68, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2025, in Truth or Consequences, NM. Kenneth was born on October 10, 1959, to Joseph Akins and Ruby Lee Moore in Madison, FL. He spent many years in Miami before moving to Alamogordo, NM. Kenneth worked as a landscaper and enjoyed singing and old western movies.

Survivors include his children- Cynthia Akins (Christopher), Kenneth Akins Jr., Shawn Akins, Brandon Hafner and Jason Hafner; his siblings- Sharon Banks Geter, Willie Banks Jr., Timothy Banks, Sheila Banks Johnson, Isaac Banks, Andrea Stamps, Cynthia Akins, Joseph Adkins, Jr., Gina Akins, Marie Akins, Renee Akins, Jo Latisha Akins, Katherine Akins, Anita Akins, Michelle Akins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Moore Banks; sister, Alfreda Stamps Hills; and brother, Tyrone Banks.

Kappy will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
