Jacqueline DeMerice Allen, affectionately known as JD, was born on November 13th in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Waddell Leo Fisher Sr. and Laverne Nelson Fisher. She was the first of seven children.
While growing up in Memphis, Jacqueline attended Father Bertrand from elementary through high school and graduated in 1968. She went on to move to Detroit, Michigan, living with her grandparents, Roger and Eva Nelson, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting at the University of Detroit in 1976.
While studying in Michigan, Jacqueline met and fell in love with Donald Louis Allen. They were married in Memphis, Tennessee at St. Thomas Church in 1971 and proceeded to start their lives together in Detroit.
In 1992 and 1993, respectively, they were blessed with two beautiful baby girls, Simone and Mikaela, and moved to Okemos, Michigan. After graduating, she earned a real estate license which she used to help purchase their first family home. During her time in Michigan, she primarily worked for The State of Michigan in the Treasury Department as a Business Revenue Auditor before retiring in 2003.
Soon after, the family of four moved from Michigan to Tennessee, where Jacqueline took on an array of endeavors ranging from her entrepreneurial efforts as a part business owner, Trend Setters Beauty Supply, with her sisters and as an antique dealer at Sheffield Antiques Mall. She was a joyous and extremely intelligent person who took on many interests from cooking, gardening, flower arranging, and decorating. Adorning her home for the holiday season was one of her more cherished hobbies. She loved to be around family and never hesitated to show up in the best way she could any chance she got.
Jacqueline leaves behind a loving husband, Donald L. Allen; two beautiful daughters, Mikaela & Simone Serenity Allen; three brothers, Waddell Leo Fisher Jr., Delmus Fisher (Lillian), and Carl Anthony Fisher (Michelle); three sisters, Bernell Fisher, Lori Fisher Page (Vincent) and Paula Fisher Lee (Terrell); a beautiful mother-in-law, Mrs. Mary Allen; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
