Mr. Luell J. Lovett Jr. was born September 11, 1942 in Burke County Georgia to Jessie Campbell and Elese Lovett Walker. He made his transition from labor to reward on April 18, 2025.
The celebration of life services will be held Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at the Second Antioch Baptist Church, 5468 Storey Mill Road, Keysville, Georgia 30816.
Interment will be held in the church cemetery.
Public viewing will be held Friday, April 25, 2025 from 3:00 – 6:00 P.M. at Davis Funeral Home, 725 Beech Street, Louisville, GA.
Mr. Luella J. Lovett was a lifelong member of the Second Antioch Baptist Church, where he joined at an early age. He received his education at Blakeley Elementary, Junior High, and High School.
“HotRod” as he was loving called, dedicated 35 years of service as a truck driver for Thermal Ceramics before retiring. Mr. Lovett had a passion for racing motorcycles and cars, frequently visiting the Jackson, South Carolina, race track every Thursday. He enjoyed fixing and selling cars. He was a great carpenter and put his mark of excellence on every job. Fishing was also a passion, and he took pride in cleaning his catch of the day. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family, often taking on side jobs to ensure their well-being. Always seen with a smile, he was known for his positive spirit.
On March 30, 1990, he married the apple of his eye, Burnese Jenkins Lovett. The love and devotion and commitment that they experienced was unmatched.
Mr. Lovett is preceded in death by his father, Jessie Campbell; his stepfather, Hardy Walker Sr.; and his brothers, Enoch Walker Sr. and Hardy Walker Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Minister Burnese Jenkins Lovett; his mother: Elese Walker; daughters: Juliett Williams and Brenda (Robert) Gray, both of Augusta, Georgia; sons Gerald (Trina) Lovett of Augusta, Georgia, and Kendrick (Taisha) Stokes Sr., of Wake Village, Texas; his special goddaughter, Chandler Carswell; eleven grandchildren; brother: Eugene Walker, Augusta, GA; sisters: Betty Washington of New York, Rosa (Arthur) Rosier, of Hephzibah, Georgia, Joyce Felton of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Jeanett Campbell of Florida; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Jennie and Rev. Lee Jones of Augusta, Georgia, Ida and Seaborn Jones, James and Mae Evans, Allen and Linda Jenkins, Vidette, Georgia, Shirley Walker of Waynesboro, Georgia, Johnnie Mae Jenkins, Waynesboro; and one brother, Eugene Walker of Augusta, Georgia.
