In 1975, she enlisted in the United States Air Force and proudly served her country for 21 years. She retired in 1996 with the rank of E4, having specialized in Physical Therapy as a Service Craftsman.

She was formerly married to Hakan Erses and touched many lives with her wisdom, care, and perseverance. Loretta was preceded in death by her mother, Sylvia Nelson Germany; her sister, Ruby Pearl Moss; and her brother, Willie Marion Germany Sr.

She is lovingly remembered by her brother, Donald Germany of Conyers and Hephzibah, Georgia; sisters Deborah Germany Rainey and Lenora Germany, both of Hephzibah, Georgia; six nephews; four nieces; and a host of extended family, friends, and neighbors who will miss her deeply.
