Mr. Leo Washington Russell, III of Panama City, FL entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 16th at Asencion Bay Medical surrounded by his loving and caring family. He was 39 years old.

Leo was an exceptionally compassionate and thoughtful young man, always eager and willing to assist those in need. He was actively involved in the music department and lent his voice to the Choir and Praise Team. In addition, he served as the assistant president of the Youth Department and drove the van to transport church members to their services. Moreover, he had a special talent for playwriting. Truly, he was a remarkable servant of God.

As a proud alumnus of Rutherford High School, he embarked on his professional journey at Captain D’s, where he acquired essential skills. His career path led him through esteemed organizations such as Oceaneering, Sam’s, Bay Medical, and, most recently, FedEx, where he earned accolades for his dedication, efficiency, and valuable contributions to his team.

He leaves to mourn and cherish his memory his mother, Brenda Russell of Panama City, Florida, brother, Brian Javis (Sayedda) Russell of Panama City, Florida; two sisters, Priscilla Russell of Panama City, Florida and Regina Russell of Panama City, Florida; Best Friend-Brother, Damond (Ja-Taiya) Collins of Panama City; two nephews, Natori Brown and Khadir Reed of Panama City, Florida; uncles, and aunties, Jimmy (Barbara) Horne, Jr. of Panama City, Florida, Pamela Denise Smith of Panama City, Florida, John Earl Horne of Panama City, Florida, Leonard James (Trezia) Horne of Panama City, Florida, Allen Eugene Horne of Panama City, Florida, Kenny Ray (Latoya) Horne of Tallahassee, Florida; one Godson, Damond Collins, Jr. of Panama City, Florida; Godparents, Willie George (Undra) Middleton of Panama City, Florida; two god brothers, LeRoy (Ke’Asha) Dorsett of Panama City, Florida, Caleb (Danielle) Middleton of Panama City, Florida and a host of cousins and friends.

A viewing will be Friday, May 9th at New Beginning Assembly of the Saints in Panama City from 3-6pm. A homegoing celebration will be Saturday, May 10th at Carter Temple First Born Church in Wewahitchka where Elder Bradford Johnson is Pastor and Bishop Marquez Alexander officiating. Interment will follow in the Redwood Cemetery in Panama with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff of licensed professionals at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna.
