Mary L. Phillips, age 64, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 1, 2018, at her home in Mesquite, Texas. Mary was born Mary Louise Brock on April 12, 1954, in Grenada, Mississippi. She attended public school in Grenada and graduated from Grenada High School in 1972. She worked for several years as a Medical Biller for Larry T. Johnson, MD. Mary was preceded in death by her wonderful daughter Cynthia Yulanda Carter, her parents Walter and Annie Herron, and her brothers Tommy L. Herron, Ken E. Herron, and James R. Herron.

Mary was a devoted mother, daughter, and sister and she loved her family with all her heart. Mary accepted Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior at a very early age and was a strong ambassador for Christ. One of the things that she loved the most was waking up every morning, reading her word, and praying, and she never missed a day. She never missed an opportunity to share the love of God with all that she encountered. She was known for her ability to speak to people and help them realize what their purpose was in the Kingdom.

Mary was the first born of 10 siblings: Tommy L. Herron, Leonnia L. Edwards, Richard Herron, Mildred A. Herron, Walter Herron Jr, Ken E. Herron, James R. Herron, Venson L. Herron, Michael E. Herron, and Cedric T. Herron. She also had one adopted sister, Sharley A. Green.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories: her two loving daughters Kendra Chanell Phillips and Destini Artnishia Fountain, and one son-in-law Amani Ra Carter Sr, two granddaughters Kiaundra Renae Carter and Alicia Rmon Carter, and two grandsons Amani Jamaal Carter Jr and Brayan Josiah Pines.
