Mabel Elizabeth Bynum Burton was born on August 14, 1931, to Claude and Julia Bynum. She transitioned peacefully in her home on the evening of Wednesday, April 30, 2025.

Mabel had one daughter, the apple of her eye, Deborah Edwards, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her loving grandchildren, Dr. Stacii Jae Johnson and Christopher Edwards; her niece, Stephanie Bynum Brown; and her nephews, Claude Oliver Bynum and Gerald Bynum.

A service of remembrance will be Friday May 09, 2025, 10am at St. Peter Catholic Church 190 Adams Ave Memphis, TN 38104.

Inurnment will follow in The Historic Elmwood Cemetery, 824 S Dudley St Memphis, TN 38104.
