Frank Dolphus Hayes Cook, Sr., 69, passed away on May 10, 2025, at Wake Medical Center in High Point, NC. He was born on March 9, 1956, to Ethel Morehead and Richard Cook in Greensboro, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Michelle Cook,
Frank attended Southern Guilford High School before enlisting in the US Army in March 1977. On October 4, 1977, he married his devoted wife of 48 years, Janice Levern Cook. Together, they traveled extensively during his military career, ultimately settling in High Point, NC.
Frank had a distinguished military career that began in 1977, including service as a Gulf War veteran. He served until his honorable discharge in 1987. Following his military service, he enjoyed spending quality time with his children, grandchildren, and friends.
Frank was married to Janice Watson Cook and through this union they had two children, a daughter, Tracy C. Cook and Frank D. H. Cook Jr.
He leaves to mourn his death his wife, Janice of Lexington, NC and children Tracy, of Winston Salem, NC and Frank Junior of Myrtle Beach, SC; two sisters, Flaxine C. Smith of High Point, NC and Sharon Cook of Whitsett, NC; seven brothers, Gregory Cook, James Cook (Pam), Robert Morehead (Imelda), Fuller Morehead, Lacy Morehead, Nathan Cook (Tonjia) of Montgomery, AL and Richard Cook of Greensboro, NC, special cousin Frank Hayes (Carolyn) Greensboro, NC; two play brothers, Myron Chandler (Mary) of Greensboro, NC and Herbert Pressley, High Point, NC; one play sister, Peggy Kittrell (David) High Point, NC., eight grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and family. To God be the Glory that before his death he renewed his fellowship with Christ! Frank loved his family dearly and enjoyed being with them. He was a devoted and loving brother to all his family.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at New Beginnings Full Gospel Ministries. Interment will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Salisbury National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
