Mr. Travis Laman McCullough

Travis Laman McCullough, 48, affectionately known by many as “Big Gam” or “Trav Lo,” passed away peacefully on Monday, May 12, 2025, at WFBH High Point Medical Center in High Point, NC. Born on October 9, 1976, in High Point, NC, Travis was the beloved son of Amelia Obi-Rapu and the late William T. Smith, Sr. He was also preceded in death by his brother, William T. Smith, Jr.

Travis attended T.W. Andrews High School in High Point, NC. Travis was a man of many talents, but it was in the kitchen and on the factory floor where he truly shined. His passion for cooking was known to all who had the pleasure of tasting his meals—every dish filled with heart, soul, and his signature flair. He also found deep satisfaction and camaraderie in his work at Thomas Built Buses, where he was a valued and hardworking team member. Above all, Travis loved his family fiercely.

He leaves behind his cherished children: daughters, Nautica McCullough, Lyric McCullough, and Calieya McCullough; son, Natrevis Jammeron Fuller; his legacy continues through his five beloved grandchildren: Natalie Urie McCullough-Lattimore, Rylan Woods, Reign Woods, Lauryn Renee McCullough-Nicholson, and Clarence Yasir Sincere Travis McCullough Neely; his devoted mother, Amelia Obi-Rapu of High Point, NC and his loving siblings: Dione Obi-Rapu of High Point; Duane Smith, William R. Smith, Latavias Bennett, and Letha DeBerry, all of Wadesboro, NC.

Travis loved his aunts and uncles and shared a special bond with his host of cousins. Travis also shared a close and special bond with Cynthia Lakia Springs, who brought comfort, laughter, and joy to his life.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Solid Rock Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.
