Mr. Donnie Renard Streater was born on March 21, 1969, in High Point, NC, to Barbara Ann Dow and James Thomas Streater. He accepted Christ at an early age, embracing a life of faith, love, and kindness. On May 12, 2025, Donnie peacefully transitioned from this life to be with the Lord. He was preceded in death by his beloved baby sister, Toshenda Streater, and his cherished niece, DeOsha Welch.
Donnie was a proud graduate of T. Wingate Andrews High School, Class of 1988. He was widely admired for his remarkable artistic talent, a gift that reflected his vibrant imagination and compassionate heart. His creativity was evident in all that he did and deeply touched the lives of those around him.
He was employed by Dynamic Trucking Company, where he was respected for his strong work ethic and dedication. Donnie brought joy to his coworkers and everyone he encountered with his bright smile, infectious laughter, and his unwavering love for the Dallas Cowboys. His presence lit up every room, and his spirit will be dearly missed.
Donnie leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories and love. He is survived by his devoted son, Donathn Streater of High Point, NC; his loving parents, Barbara and Wilbert Dow of High Point, NC, and James and Arnita Streater of Winston-Salem, NC; one brother, Anthony (Penny) Wilson of High Point, NC; three sisters, Tenita Lynette Welch and Shanda Allen, both of High Point, NC, and Kimberly (Ronald) Fields of Winston-Salem, NC. He is also survived by three uncles, Walter (Mary) Pratt, Jerry Pratt, and Tom (Kitty) Spencer, all of High Point, NC; two aunts, Annie (Ernest) Rorie of Liberty, NC, and Katie Pratt of High Point, NC; one great-uncle, Jasper Marshall of Lilesville, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many other loving family members and friends. A special bond was shared with his cousin, Jerry Pratt Jr., who was like a brother, and his god-sister, Patricia McCormick Dixon, who held a unique and cherished place in his heart.
Donnie’s legacy of love, laughter, and creativity will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, and he will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at New Beginnings Full Gospel Ministries. Interment will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Mr. Streater may be viewed at Phillips Funeral Service on Monday, May 26,2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
