Mr. Otis Lewis Taylor, 51, of Phenix City, AL passed on Wednesday May 14, 2025 in Tuskegee, AL.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. EST on Friday, May 30, 2025 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home. Burial to follow in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. Public viewing is from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m EST on Thursday, May 29, 2025.
Born September 10, 1973, in Pensacola, FL, he was the youngest child of the late Otto and Fannie Mae Taylor.
Otis attended Woodhams High School in Pensacola FL. After graduating, he joined the Army. At the time of 911, Otis was stationed at Fort Carson, CO and was immediately deployed to the front line in Iraq. He spent 12 years completing Combat tours including Iraq and Afghanistan and serving a total of 20 years in the Army. Otis served in Iraq and Afghanistan alone side his friend and uncle Issac. The two of them are a beacon of light to ALL our lives.
Otis accomplishments as a soldier are evidenced by his untold sacrifices to his country. He is truly one of our heroes.
Otis was preceded in death by his parents Otto and Fannie, son Deionte Taylor.
Otis is survived by his wife, Rochelle Taylor; his two daughters, Kiaren Goode-Clark, Otisa A Taylor; two sisters, Nina Lewis of Winchester, CA and Carolyn Erkins of Phenix City, AL, one brother, Kelvin Freeman of Seattle, WA; three grandchildren, Ezra Jude Clark, Scarlett Grace Clark, and Sonny Clark; as well as numerous aunts, uncles nieces, and nephews.
He loved life, and his smile will live on forever.
