Obituary For Mabel Harris Burton

Mabel Harris Burton, 95 of Fuquay-Varina, NC passed October 16, 2018 at the home. Mrs Burton is survived by one sister, Hazel Ball (Maryland), two children, Gwendolyn (Sylvester) of Atlanta, Georgia, Algernon Jr. of the home,one daughter-in-law, Linda Burton, two Stepsisters, Edna Fogg and Geraldine Lane of Raleigh, NC. She also leaves a niece and nephew who were like her children, Calvin King (Gloria) of Durham, NC and Kathryn McBennett of Goldsboro, NC. four grandsons, Bernard Morgan, (Rashida) Bryan Burton, Bradford Burton, Michael Landrum (Stacy), granddaughters, Yvette McIver (Cameron) Caree Mangum, eleven great grandchildren and over twenty five nieces and nephews. Holding special places in her heart were sister-in-law, Ruby Burton Bullock (Philadelphia) and first cousins, Ada Farrar, Marie Atwater and Delores Samuels.

I have such fond memories of Cousin Mabel from my childhood as my Sunday school teacher to adulthood when I would visit her at her home. I was always greeted with " There's my girl" accompanied with her radiant smile. She will be missed dearly. Prayers are with the family.
